Dordt College Women's Soccer vs. Mount Marty

(Sioux Center, Iowa) The Dordt College Defender women's soccer team took a 7-1 win over the Mount Marty Lancers on Saturday afternoon in Sioux Center, Iowa to improve their record to 8-6-1 overall and 5-4-1 in the GPAC with two games remaining next week.
Dordt scored two goals in the first half on a pair of breakaways by Noelle Kreykes in the 8th and 15th minutes. The first goal was off an assist by Lisa Groen.
Kirsten Monsma got free for two goals in the second half to make it 4-0 in the 23rd and 27th minutes of the second half. Two minutes after Monsma's second goal Kate Du Mez knocked one in from straight on just outside the keeper box. Du Mez figured in the next goal ten minutes later when she assisted Adrianna Oudman who headed it over the Mount Marty keeper. Monsma scored one more goal for the hat trick with a goal in the 87th minute.
Dordt got 34 shots off with 20 of them on goal. Mount Marty got their goal with 3:29 left on a Lauren Donlin unassisted goal. It was Mount Marty's only shot of the game. Rosalyn De Pooter was in goal for the Defenders who will host Northwestern on Wednesday at 2:00 and conclude their regular season against Dana in Blair, Nebraska on Saturday, October 27.
The Defenders are currently seventh in the GPAC standings. The top four teams in the league gain an automatic berth into the NAIA Region III tournament with the fifth and sixth teams determined by longo ratings.
