Dordt College Women's Soccer vs. Sioux Falls

(Sioux Falls, South Dakota) The Dordt College Defender women's soccer team improved to 3-1 in the Great Plains Athletic Conference and 5-2 overall with a 3-2 win over the Sioux Falls Cougars in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on Wednesday afternoon.

Dordt found the goal first when Samantha Foster scored in the 20th minute off an assist from Kate Du Mez. Samantha Foster figured into Dordt's second goal six minutes later when she scored off a corner kick for a 2-0 Dordt College lead.

Sioux Falls got back into the game when Dordt scored an own goal in the 35th minute and the teams went to halftime with Dordt up 2-1. Sioux Falls tied the game in the 53rd minute when Megan Aanenson scored unassisted but the Defenders struck back in the 63rd minute on an unassisted score by Kate Du Mez that she banged off the keeper and then finished off when she got to the deflection.

Dordt's Rosalyn De Pooter made six saves in goal for the win while the University of Sioux Falls was fending off 10 Dordt College shots.

Sioux Falls is now 1-2 in the league and 4-5 overall. Dordt hosts Nebraska Wesleyan on Saturday in league play beginning at 1:00.
