Dordt College Women's Soccer vs. Presentation

(Crookston, Minnesota) The Dordt College Defender women's soccer team had no problem with the Presentation (South Dakota) Saints on Saturday afternoon in a game played at Crookston, Minnesota. The Defenders scored two in the first half and five in the second half on the way to the blowout win. It was the first ever meeting between the two programs and came one day after the Defenders beat Minnesota-Crookston 1-0.
The Defenders started the scoring in the 33rd minute when Kate Du Mez scored off an assist from Kirsten Monsma. Three minutes later Monsma scored unassisted for a 2-0 lead at halftime. Sarah Sikkema scored her second goal of the weekend quickly in the second half with three minutes gone off another assist from Monsma and Sam Foster got into the act in the 57th minute off an assist from Du Mez. DuMez then scored back to back goals in the 65th and 67th minutes. Kristi Ouwinga assisted on one of the Du Mez goals. Kirsten Monsma then scored in the 85th minute off an assist from Amanda Den Dulk to make the final 7-0.
Dordt peppered the Presentation goal with 21 shots while the Dordt defense held Presentation without a shot. Rosalyn DePooter got the win in goal without facing a shot. Kate DuMez had the hat trick and one assist and Monsma accounted for two goals and two assists. Dordt is now 2-0 while Presentation is 0-1.
