(Crookston, Minnesota) The Dordt College Defender women's soccer team opened the 2007 season with a 1-0 win at Minnesota-Crookston on Friday afternoon. After a scoreless first half the Defenders found the goal on a Sarah Sikkema putback off a corner kick that the Crookston goalkeeper couldn't handle cleanly in the 54th minute of the game.

The Defenders got four shots on goal to three for the Eagles and Rosalyn DePooter toiled in goal for the Defenders, registering the shutout with three saves.

Dordt is 1-0 and plays Presentation (South Dakota) on Saturday afternoon in Crookston.
