(Sioux Center, Iowa) The Dordt College Defender women's soccer team earned a 5-0 win over Hastings College on Saturday at Sioux Center, Iowa. The Defenders struck immediately when Anna Bos scored on an unassisted goal with 2:47 gone in the first half. Attacking relentlesly the Defenders tacked on another goal when Suzanne Clark hooked a corner kick in the 17th minute of play.
Keeping the pressure on Sarah Sikkema scored off an assist by Kate Du Mez with 39:49 played in the first half. Whitney Elgersma knocked in a crossing pass from Sarah Sikkema less than two minutes later to take a 4-0 lead into the half.
Dordt scored the final goal of the game with 3:05 remaining on a drive by Kate Du Mez on an assist from Heather Otten. Mallory Foster was credited with a shutout, stopping one shot as the Defenders outshot the visitors 15-1.
