Dordt College Women's Soccer vs. Park

(Sioux Center, Iowa) The Park Pirates earned a trip to the NAIA Women's National Tournament with a 5-0 Region IV Title game win over the Dordt College Lady Defenders.

The Pirates scored early in building a 4-0 halftime lead and forged the 5-0 win with a goal in the second half.

Maria Ruiz, the tournament's mvp, scored four goals to go along with her three goals from the semifinal win on Tuesday.

Ruiz scored off an assist from Laura Baeza with 12:08 gone in the game and scored again with 27:44 left in the half on an unassisted goal. Julia Eshikumo tacked on the third goal of the game with 7:40 left in the half and Ruiz scored off an assist from Eshikumo with 5:06 left in the half.

Ruiz added one more with 27:24 left in the game for the final.

Jade Holcomb worked in goal for the Pirates, making six saves while Larissa Brown made nine saves for the Lady Defenders.
