Dordt College Men's Soccer vs. Doane

(Crete, Nebraska) The Dordt College Defender men’s soccer team found itself on the short end of a 3-2 decision at Doane on Saturday afternoon, October 26 in Crete, Nebraska.

The Defenders allowed three first half goals and had to fight from behind the entire game.

Isaac Beber scored for the Tigers in the ninth minute and Connor Williams made it 2-0 in the 24th minute. Doane’s final goal came in the 34th minute to give them a 3-0 lead.

Dordt got on the board in the 41st minute when Eric Grootenboer scored his sixth goal of the season off an assist from Davi Baldussi Alves.

Dordt drew within a goal in the 85th minute with Mason Nab scoring an unassisted goal. Dordt didn’t get another shot in their sixth loss of the conference season.

Dordt was outshot on goal 7-5 and 16-12 overall. Jon Brinkerhoff had four saves in goal for the Defenders.

Dordt is 1-6-1 in the GPAC and 3-12-1 overall. Doane improves to 8-6-1 overall and 6-2-1 in league play. Dordt will face Mount Marty on Wednesday in GPAC play in Yankton.
