Dordt College Men's Soccer vs. Morningside-GPAC Quarterfinals

(Sioux Center, Iowa) The Dordt men's soccer team saw their season come to an end with a 1-0 loss to the Morningside Mustangs on Thursday, November 1 in GPAC Quarterfinal round. The win for Morningside was a reversal of a 3-2 win by the Defenders on Tuesday, October 23.
The two teams played to a 0-0 halftime tie with the Mustangs breaking through in the 52nd minute with a Chico Hernandez goal that stood up the rest of the way.
The Defenders missed on an early opportunity in the second half when a shot was just wide and they also missed a chance to score it when a Brady Van Holland attack on a breakaway hit into the side of the net with three minutes to play.
Dordt was outshot on goal 5-4 with both teams getting four corner kicks. Jon Brinkerhoff made four saves in goal for the Defenders while Evaristo Hernandez made four saves to preserve the shutout.
Dordt's season ends with a 10-8-1 record while the Mustangs advance to the semifinal round on Tuesday, November 6 against the winner of the Hastings-Dakota Wesleyan game.
