Dordt College Men's Soccer vs. Presentation College

In their final tune-up before the conference season, the Dordt menís soccer team put the pedal down and didnít let up, winning a lopsided game against Presentation College 11-0.

The Defenders (4-3) got hat tricks from senior Josh Brinkerhoff and junior Eric Grootenboer en route to their victory. Brinkerhoff scored the first two goals of the game in the 8th and 14th minutes with his third tally coming in the 50th minute, giving him a team-leading seven goals on the season. Grootenboer notched goals in the 16th, 51st, and 58th minutes while adding two assists to total an eight-point game.

Five other Dordt players recorded goals in the contest. Senior Scott Van Wylen scored his third of the year in the 15th minute, and four other Defenders scored for the first time this season: sophomore Brady Van Holland in the 19th, senior David Riley in the 46th, junior Jeff McClelland in the 65th, and freshman Colin Middel in the 78th. The goals for McClelland and Middel were the first of their collegiate careers.

Dordt put 20 shots on goal against the school from Aberdeen,South Dakota and they had total of 33 shots. The Saints of Presentation (0-6) only managed one shot on goal the entire game against sophomore goalie Jon Brinkerhoff. Presentation is restarting their program after the 2011 season got canceled due to lack of players. Theyíve now been outscored 39-3 in six games this year.

The Defenders dive into their conference schedule Saturday with a matchup against a tough Concordia team at 3:15. The game will be available via webcast.
