Dordt College Men's Soccer vs. Concordia University

(Sioux Center, Iowa) Two early goals by the Dordt Defender men's soccer team proved to be enough as they held off the Concordia Bulldogs 2-0 in the GPAC opener for both teams.

Dordt scored in the first minute on an unassisted goal by Eric Grootenboer that he blasted past the Concordia keeper. Less than five minutes later Scott Van Wylen hit a shot to the corner that made it 2-0 in the sixth minute.

From there the Defenders shut out the visitors, limiting the Bulldogs to five shots on goal. Dordt also had five shots on goal and both teams had 11 total shots.

Dordt's Jon Brinkerhoff had five saves in the shut out.

Dordt is 1-0 in the GPAC and 5-3 overall. Concordia is 6-2 and 0-1. Dordt will travel to Northwestern on Wednesday in Orange City.
