Dordt College Men's Soccer vs. Avila

(Sioux Center, Iowa) Two goals in a two minute span were all Avila needed Friday afternoon to defeat the Dordt Defenders in men's non-conference soccer play.

The visitors got a goal in the 55th minute on a penalty kick by Dustin Deishe and they made it 2-0 on a long shot by Justin Scicluna on a long shot over Dordt' keeper, Jon Brinkherhoff.

Dordt was outshot 13-11 and shots on goal were even at six each. Brinkherhoff got credit for four saves as Dordt dropped to 2-1 and Avila improved to 2-3. Pedro Vargas made six saves in goal for the visitors.

Dordt will travel to Mount Mercy in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on Wednesday.
