Dordt College Men's Soccer vs. Hastings-GPAC Quarterfinals

(Hastings, Nebraska) The Hastings College Broncos ended the Dordt College men's soccer season in the quarterfinal round of the GPAC playoffs with a 7-1 victory at the Osborn Sports Complex on the Hastings campus.

Hastings scored early on a Ryan Robinson shot in the fifth minute and made it 2-0 in the 20th minute when Jordan Green found the goal for the first of three scores.

The two teams played scoreless soccer for the next 50-plus minutes before the Broncos erupted for three quick strikes. Nate Polak scored in the 73rd minute and Green scored in the 76th and 77th minutes for a 5-0 lead.

Dordt's Brady Van Holland averted the shutout with a goal in the 79th minute and Hastings tacked on two more meaningless goals in the 86th and 89th minutes for the final margin of 7-1.

Hastings got 40 shots off and 22 of them were on frame. Dordt countered with six shots and one on goal. Brian Verwolf made 15 saves and faced 22 shots.

Dordt finishes the season 12-7 while Hastings, the defending NAIA champion, advances to the semifinals on Saturday, November 5.
