(Sioux Center, Iowa) A goal from Scott Van Wylen in the 22nd minute of play would prove to be enough as the Defenders picked up a 1-0 win over St. Ambrose in a non-conference match held in Sioux Center. The goal is Van Wylen's third of the 2011 campaign while Van Holland notches his 3rd assist.

Dordt freshman midfielder Brady Van Holland beat the St. Ambrose defense down the left flank and played a lovely ball on to the foot of Scott Van Wylen who neatly tucked the ball into the back of the Bees net for the game winner.

Dordt goalkeeper Brian Verwolf came up with a huge save late in the contest to secure the clean sheet for the Defender men who improve to 11-1 on the season.

The Defenders had 14 shots in the contest while the Bees had 5. Brian Verwolf registered 3 saves in the win for Dordt College, while Matt Tucker posted 4 saves in the loss.

Dordt College will resume GPAC play when they travel to Mitchell, SD on Wednesday, October 12 to take on Dakota Wesleyan with the game scheduled to begin at 8:00 pm.
