Dordt College Men's Soccer vs. Morningside

(Sioux City, Iowa) Playing their fourth double overtime game in five starts, the Dordt College Defender men's soccer team was on the winning end of a 1-0 decision over the Morningside Mustangs on Tuesday night in Sioux City.

The Defenders got a goal by Eric Grootenboer in the second to last minute of the second overtime to snap a four game losing streak for the Defenders and locked up a berth in the eight team GPAC Tournament field beginning on Tuesday, November 1. Grootenboer's score came off an assist by Derick Sackey.

Dordt outshot the hosts 4-2 and managed 17 total shots to ten for the hosts. Brian Verwolf made two saves in goal for the shutout.

Dordt is 4-5 in the conference and 12-5 overall with a home game against Hastings scheduled for Saturday, October 29 to conclude the regular season.
