Dordt College Men's Soccer vs. Trinity International

(Sioux Center, Iowa) A hat trick by Derick Sackey vaulted the Dordt College Defender men's soccer team to their second win of the season, a 6-1 decision over Trinity International (Illinois).
Sackey got through for his first goal in the fourth minute off an assist by Josh Brinkerhoff. The 1-0 lead held till the second half when Sackey scored on a penalty kick after Trinity International committed a foul in the box. Sackey's goal came in the 56th minute. The action got wild from that point on as the freshman from Arlington, Texas scored in the 61st minute for the rare natural hat trick off an assist by Brinkerhoff again.
Eric Grootenboer, Braden Graves and Steven Talsma scored in the 71st, 84th and 89th minutes respectively. Trinity International staved off the shut out with a penalty kick goal by Evan Paur in the 75th minute.
Dordt out shot the visitors 20-5 and put 11 shots on goal. Brian Verwolf got the win in goal and made two saves. Brinkerhoff and Jeffrey McClelland each accounted for two assists.
Dordt faces Waldorf (Iowa) on Saturday in Sioux Center at 2:00.
