(Sioux Center, Iowa) The Dordt men's soccer team held North Central without a shot on goal in their non-conference match on Saturday and earned a 5-0 win for their second win of the week. Dordt got two goals from Phil Nywening while Scott Van Wylen, Josh Brinkerhoff and Steve Talsma had the other counters for the home team.

Dordt's first goal came from Van Wylen in the 13th minute off an assist by Devin Williams. Phil Nywening got the first of his two in the 20th minute for a 2-0 hafltime lead. Brinkerhoff made it 3-0 with a goal in the 50th minute and Nywening added another with 32 minutes remaining. Steven Talsma tallied the final score in the 88th minute to make it 5-0.

Brian Verwolf and Kurt Franje each spent time in goal but faced just two shots--neither of them on goal. Dordt put 19 shots on goal in winning its fifth win of the season.

The Defenders will travel to Mount Marty on Wednesday in their next action.
