Dordt College Men's Soccer vs. Northwestern

(Orange City, Iowa) A Devin Williams penalty kick goal in the first half proved to be enough as the Dordt College Defender men's soccer team earned a conference win over Northwestern in Orange City on Wednesday night.
The Defenders cashed in when the hosts were called for a handball in the box and Williams hammered the ensuing shot home in the 37th minute.
Dordt was outshot 20-3 with Northwestern getting seven shots on frame to two for the Defenders. Brian Verwolf made seven saves with his final save coming on a header in the 71st minute.
Dordt is now 2-5-1 in the league and 4-8-2 overall while Northwestern slips to 2-6 and 4-9-1 overall. Dordt will host North Central (Minnesota) in a non-conference tilt on Saturday and will have three conference matches remaining against Mount Marty, Doane and Briar Cliff in the final two weeks of the season.
