(Fremont, Nebraska) Midland scored a goal in the first half and never relinquished the lead in taking a 3-1 win from Dordt in men's Great Plains Athletic Conference soccer on Saturday, October 2 in Fremont, Nebraska.

Midland scored on a John Podraza break away in the 36th minute and took that lead into the half. The Warriors tacked on a second goal in the 56th minute when Paul Cox put a shot away that Brian Verwolf mishandled.

Down 2-0, the Defenders scored on an Alex Geleynse header in the 63rd minute off a cross from David Miedema. Midland wasted no time with Jake Corum scoring on a break away in the 64th minute of the game for the final of 3-1.

Dordt had seven shots on goal while Midland had 14. Brian Verwolf recorded 11 saves in goal for the Defenders who are now 3-6-2 overall and 1-3-1 in the league. Midland is now 3-6 overall and 2-3 in the GPAC. Dordt will host Sioux Falls on Tuesday and will travel to Concordia on Saturday, October 9.
