Dordt College Men's Soccer vs. Nebraka Wesleyan

(Lincoln, NE) Dordt College and Nebraska Wesleyan played to a 1-1 double overtime tie in men's soccer on Saturday night in Lincoln, Nebraska. Both teams scored in the first half and the 1-1 tie would last through 110 minutes.
Scott Van Wylen knocked a free kick in during the 32nd minute for a 1-0 lead but the hosts would tie it moments later when Chris Simley scored off a crossing pass from Colby Twist.
Dordt had 12 shots with five of them on goal. Wesleyan had 18 shots and six of them were on goal. Brian Verwolf made five saves in goal for the Defenders. One of those saves came in the second overtime to preserve the tie.
Dordt is now 3-5-2 overall and 1-2-1 in the GPAC while Wesleyan is 2-6-1 and 1-1-1. Dordt will play at Midland on Saturday, October 2 in its next outing.
