Dordt College Men's Soccer vs. Dakota Wesleyan

(Sioux Center, Iowa) A first half goal by Devin Williams and a defensive stop in the second half was enough for the Dordt College Defenders to earn their first win of the GPAC men's soccer season on Tuesday in Sioux Center, Iowa.
Williams scored on a Tom Stepanek long pass in the seventh minute of the game for a 1-0 lead. After that the Dordt defense stonewalled the Wesleyan attack, weathering 12 shots by Dakota Wesleyan--three of them on goal to get the win. Dordt ended playing the final 15 minutes of the game a man down after Stepanek was sent off with a red card. Dordt mustered four shots on goal and 12 total shots.
Brian Verwolf had three saves for the Defenders who improved to 3-5-1 overall and 1-2 in the league. Wesleyan falls to 0-3 in the GPAC and and 3-5-1 overall. Dordt will travel to Nebraska Wesleyan on Saturday for a conference match in Lincoln.
