Dordt College Men's Soccer vs. Hastings

(Sioux Center, Iowa) Hastings College was able to hold the Dordt Defenders off 2-0 in Great Plains Athletic Conference soccer Saturday afternoon in Sioux Center.

Hastings scored in the sixth minute off a corner kick where Greg Dodds finished off the loose ball. The score stood for the next 71 minutes with Yannic Thiel giving Hastings an insurance goal in the 77th minute when Dordt was a man down.

Dordt was outshot 14-3 with Brian Verwolf registering 12 saves in goal for the Defenders while Cody Poteat was equal to the task on the three Dordt shots.

Dordt is 2-5-1 overall and 0-2 in the conference. Hastings is now 5-0 overall and 1-0 in the league. Dordt will host Dakota Wesleyan on Tuesday in the last game of a three game homestand.
