Dordt College Men's Soccer vs. Trinity International

(Deerfield, Illinois) Dordt College scored two first half goals to defeat Trinity International (Illinois) on Saturday afternoon in Deerfield, Illinois. Dordt withstood a 22 shot flurry by the Trojans to register the 2-0 win.

Dordt got their first goal on a Devin Williams finish of a Joe Lammers cross in the ninth minute. Scott Van Wylen hammered in a rebound shot in the 34th minute for Dordt's second goal and the Dordt defense did the rest.

Brian Verwolf made nine saves in posting the shutout while Dordt was out-shot 22-14 but got eight shots on goal. Tom Stepanek got three shots on goal off for the Defenders but couldn't get one through.

Dordt is 2-3-1 this season and will host Morningside in conference play on Wednesday at 5:15. Trinity International is now 3-3-1.
