Dordt College Men's Soccer vs. Mount Mercy

(Cedar Rapids, Iowa) Dordt College surrendered a 3-0 decision to Mount Mercy on Saturday afternoon, September 4 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The Defenders outshot the hosts but couldn't get the finishing touch in dropping to 1-2-1 this season.

Mount Mercy got one in the ninth minute on a Matt Rumery shot and then took a 2-0 lead in the 22nd minute on a Vladimer Virovkic goal.

Mount Mercy finished the scoring in the 68th minute when Enrique Cortina found the net.

Dordt had eight different players get a shot on goal. Brian Verwolf played 90 minutes in goal and made six saves and was charged with the loss in goal. Five of Dordt's shots on goal came in the first half.

Mount Mercy is 2-1 this season while Dordt is 1-2-1 and will face Trinity International (Illinois) and Aquinas (Michigan) this weekend.
