Dordt College Men's Soccer vs. Nebraska Wesleyan

(Sioux Center) The Dordt College men improved to 5-5 in the GPAC and 9-7 overall with a 1-0 win over Nebraska Wesleyan University this afternoon.
Joe Lammers had the lone goal for the Defenders when he knocked home a penalty kick that was awarded to Dordt after Phil Nywening had been hauled down in the box. The Lammers goal, his 3rd of the season, came in the 16th minute of action.
Although Dordt outshot Nebraska Wesleyan 13-11, the Prairie Wolves had 9 on the Defender goal to Dordt's 5 on frame. Dordt goalkeeper, Brian Verwolf had 9 saves for the Defenders including a couple of absolute gems in the first half that kept the Prairie Wolves off the board. Josh Miller recorded 4 saves for NWU.
Nebraska Wesleyan played the final 18 minutes of the contest with only 10 players when Blake Gordon was sent off after picking up his second yellow of the match.
Dordt will travel to Morningside on Tuesday, October 27 for an 8:00 pm match before hosting their final regular season game on Saturday, October 31 against Midland Lutheran at 3:15 pm.
