(Mitchell, SD) The Dordt College Defender men's soccer team lost a double overtime decision 1-0 to the Dakota Wesleyan Tigers in Mitchell, South Dakota on Wednesday night.
Dakota Wesleyan got the game winner on a penalty kick by Leif Evers in the 104th minute for the conference win while the Defenders drop to 3-3 overall and 0-1 in conference play.
Dordt's Brian Verwolf faced 21 shots in goal with seven of them on frame by the Tigers and made six saves. Dordt's offense countered with 14 shots and had eight on goal with Jordan Werner recording the shutout win.
Dordt travels to Crete, Nebraska on Saturday, September 22 for a GPAC game with Doane starting at 8:15.
