Dordt College Men's Soccer vs. Grandview (Dordt/Northwestern Pizza Ranch Classic)

(Sioux Center) For the second straight contest, on consecutive days, the Dordt College Defenders ran into opponents with a ton of speed and talent. Grandview scored twice in the first half and tacked on two more in the second to beat Dordt 4-0 in second match of the Dordt/Northwestern Pizza Ranch Classic. Grandview earned a clean sheet in each of their two contests in the Classic as they knocked off Northwestern 3-0 in yesterday's game.

Craig Hughes got Grandview on the scoreboard in the 11th minute of action when he bicycled home a loose ball that had originally been served in on a corner kick. Augustine Faiz gave Grandview a 2 goal advantage scoring in the 36th minute on a header from a Armin Mujdzic cross. Mujdzic added one of his own scoring on a break away in the 77th minute beating Dordt keeper Verwolf. Noel Medina rounded out the Grandview scoring as he too went in alone after a nice 1 v 1 move that gave him space in the middle.

Dordt College managed only 4 shots while Grandview had 21 shots. Dordt keeper Brian Verwolf had 7 saves in the contest.

Grandview improves to 3-1 on the season while Dordt drops to 1-2.

Dordt will be at home again on Wednesday, September 9 as they play host to Buena Vista at 5:00 pm.
