Dordt College Men's Soccer vs. Hastings-GPAC Quarterfinals

(Hastings, Nebraska) The Dordt College Defender men's soccer season came to a close in the quarterfinal round of the Great Plains Athletic Conference post-season tournament with a loss to the number one seeded Hastings College Broncos.

The Broncos took a 2-0 lead into halftime with goals in the 8th and 32nd minutes and then put the game out of reach with three goals in the first 13:00 of the second half. Nedim Hasanbegovic scored the three goals for Hastings in the 51st, 54th and 58th minutes and Hastings got one more in the 79th minute for the 6-0 final.

Hastings peppered the Dordt goal for 21 shots--16 of them on goal. Jordan Huisken recorded eight saves and Brian Verwolf three.

The Defenders finish the season with a 4-12-1 mark while Hastings advances on to host a semifinal game next week with a 16-3 mark.
