(Fremont, Nebraska) The Dordt College Defender men's soccer team took advantage of one of their few opportunities on Saturday to take a 1-0 win over Midland Lutheran in Fremont, Nebraska.

Siam Grobler scored on a header off a free kick by Tim Walstra in the 53rd minute for the game winner. Dordt's offensive opportunities were at a premium with Dordt mustering four shots on goal to six shots on frame by Midland Lutheran. Midland Lutheran played the last thirty minutes of the match a man down.

Brian Verwolf made six saves for the Defenders to preserve the victory.

Dordt improves to 3-8-1 in the GPAC and 5-12-1 overall. Midland Lutheran finishes the year 2-8-2 in the conference and 4-11-2 overall. Dordt is currently tied with Dakota Wesleyan for ninth place in the conference and the #8 seed in the GPAC tournament. Dordt will learn their post-season fate late Saturday night when the GPAC post-season pairings are announced. If Dordt qualifies for the tournament they will play Hastings College in Hastings, Nebraska on Thursday, November 6.
