(Orange City, Iowa) Northwestern scored one goal in each half to take a 2-0 win over the Dordt Defenders Wednesday, October 1 in a Great Plains Athletic Conference game played in Orange City, Iowa.
The Defenders surrendered a goal to Aaron O'Brien in the 14th minute off an assist by Kyle Heynen. Dordt did have a penalty kick opportunity but the shot by Siam Grobler was knocked away by Northwestern's Ben Schneider. Tommy Tucker had Northwestern's other goal in the 76th minute for the final of 2-0.
Dordt was outshot 14-8 with the Defenders getting two on goal and Northestern had five. Jordan Huisken made three saves in goal for the Defenders while Schneider had two for Northwester.
Dordt is now 1-4 in the GPAC and 2-6 overall while Northwestern improves to 3-2 in the conference and 5-5 overall. Dordt hosts Dana in conference play on Saturday at 3:15.
