Dordt College Men's Soccer vs. York

(York, Nebraska) The Dordt College Defender men's soccer team upped their record to 5-6-2 with a 5-0 whitewashing of the York College Panthers in York, Nebraska Saturday afternoon. The Defenders took a 2-0 lead at halftime and then scored three goals in the first twenty-five minutes of play in the second half and Jordan Huisken recorded the shutout in goal for Dordt College.
Andrew Wubben started the scoring with a goal fifteen minutes into the game--it was unassisted. Darin Keizer then found the net for the third straight game to give Dordt a 2-0 lead in the 26th minute of play off an assist from Ryan Coon.
Ryan Coon then got to the goal in the 51st minute off an assist from Tim Walstra. Walstra would later score off a corner kick assist by Siam Grobler with twenty-seven minutes left for a 4-0 lead and Andrew Wubben, who started all the scoring, bookended the game with a goal off an assist from Ryan Coon for a 5-0 final with twenty minutes left in the game.
Dordt got 11 shots off with seven of them on goal while York mustered 16 shots--nine of them on goal with Huisken recording nine saves.
Andrew Wubben recorded two goals and Coon was credited with a goal and two assists. Keizer had a goal and Tim Walstra had a goal and an assist.
Dordt is idle until Thursday, October 18 when they travel to Doane. York slips to 7-7-1 with the loss and are now 3-3 against Great Plains Athletic conference teams.
