(Mitchell, South Dakota) The Dordt College Defender men's soccer team dropped a 4-1 decision at Mitchell, South Dakota against Dakota Wesleyan in Great Plains Athletic Conference on Wednesday, October 10.
Wesleyan broke through for four goals in the first half with a goal in the 14th, 18th, 34th and 43rd minutes to stake themselves to the big halftime lead.
Dordt got on the board in the 60th minute on a goal by Darin Keizer off an assist by Dan Koolhaas off a free kick.
Dordt got 21 shots off--nine of them on goal while Wesleyan was getting 17 shots off. Brandon Vander Wel and Jordan Huisken split the goalkeeping duties with Vander Wel making three saves in the first half and Huisken making three saves in the second half.
Dordt is now 2-4-2 in the league and 4-6-2 overall while Wesleyan improves to 3-6 overall and 4-8 in the conference. Dordt will travel to York (Nebraska) on Saturday, October 13.
