(Sioux Center, Iowa) The Dordt College Defenders and Nebraska Wesleyan Prairie Wolves battled to a 1-1 double overtime tie Saturday afternoon in Great Plains Athletic Conference action in men's soccer at Sioux Center, Iowa.
The Defenders got on the board first with a Jake Kloet goal 37 minutes off a through pass from Ryan Coon in the box. Wesleyan broke through to force overtime on an unassisted goal by Gordon Blake in the 76th minute and the two teams played a pair of scoreless extra sessions with the game ending in a tie.
Wesleyan and Dordt both had 19 shots with Dordt registering nine on goal and Dordt four. Jordan Huisken was in goal for the Defenders and made eight saves while Josh Miller made three saves for the Prairie Wolves.
Dordt is now 1-2-2 in the league and 3-4-2 overall while Nebraska Wesleyan is 3-1-1 in the GPAC and 6-3-1 overall.
Dordt travels to Morningside on Tuesday night, October 2.
