(Hastings, Nebraska) The Hastings College Broncos scored a 5-1 win over the Dordt College Defenders in men's soccer in Hastings, Nebraska on Saturday afternoon in league play.
A close game at half, the Broncos scored in the 47th minute for a 2-0 lead and tacked on a third goal in the 58th minute and built their lead to 5-1 with goals in the 77th and 79th minutes. The two final goals for Hastings came after Dordt got on the board with a Ryan Coon goal off an assist by Tyler Turney to make it 5-1 with 19 minutes left in regulation.
The Broncos kept the pressure on the entire afternoon with Jordan Huisken making 9 saves in goal for the Defenders. Dordt got three shots for the afternoon while Hastings peppered the Dordt goal with 25 shots--14 of them on goal.
Dordt is now 3-3-1 overall and 1-1-1 in the GPAC while Hastings improves to 4-1-1 overall and 2-0 in the conference. Dordt travels to Sioux Falls on Wednesday for a 5:00 game.
