Dordt College Men's Soccer vs. Waldorf

(Orange City, Iowa) The Dordt College Defender men's soccer team scored a pair of second half goals to force overtime and then got an unassisted goal in the second overtime to forge a 3-2 victory over the Waldorf (Iowa) Warriors on Saturday at a classic hosted by Northwestern in Orange City, Iowa.
Waldorf struck for two goals in the first half. John Gogen took a crossing shot from Sean McPherson with a little over 30 minutes gone in the game for a 1-0 lead. Godgift Kiobel made it 2-0 Waldorf in the 41st minute on an unassisted goal.
Dordt got on the board at DeValois Stadium when Andrew Wubben (Junior; Bradenton, Florida) scored on an unassisted goal in the sixth minute of the second half and Siam Grobler (Junior; Red Deer, Alberta) scored six minutes later in the 57th minute to knot the game at 2-2. Neither team scored in the final 33 minutes and neither team scored in the first ten-minute overtime session. The Defenders finally broke the tie on an unassisted goal by two-time All-GPAC performer Ryan Coon (Senior; Thornton, Colorado in the 104th minute for the 3-2 win.
Jordan Huisken (Sophomore; Chandler, Minnesota)toiled in goal for the Defenders, allowing the two first half goals and making three saves. Dordt had nine shots on goal to Waldorf's five.
Dordt is 2-0 and will face highly regarded Bellevue (Nebraska) on the road Friday, August 31. Waldorf falls to 0-2.
