(Orange City, Iowa) The Dordt College Defenders got a penalty kick goal by Dan Koolhaas in the 74th minute of their season opening contest with Jamestown (North Dakota) and were able to hold on for the 1-0 win. The game was a part of a classic hosted by Northwestern in Orange City, Iowa Friday.
The penalty kick was set up when Ryan Coon was pulled down in the Jamestown box late in the game. Koolhaas smoked the ensuing penalty kick past a flatfooted Jamestown keeper for the only goal of the game. Jordan Huisken got the win in goal for the Defenders, registering the shutout on five saves.
