Dordt College Men's Soccer vs. Mount Marty

(Yankton, South Dakota) The Dordt College Defender men's soccer team kept Mount Marty winless in Great Plains Athletic Conference play on Wednesday in Yankton, South Dakota with a convincing 5-0 win over the Lancers.
Dordt College struck in the first minute off a goal by Mike Oppeneer, he was assisted by Danny Koolhaas. The two teams were scoreless for the next 35 minutes until Ryan Coon broke through for the first of three goals the junior would score. Coon scored off an assist from Siam Grobler and forty seconds later Coon scored again off an assist from Oppeneer.
Coon stretched Dordt's lead to 4-0 with a goal in the 81st minute off an assist from Koolhaas and Bryan Burgers capped the scoring in the final minute off a penalty kick.
Brandon Vander Wel made one save in goal for the shutout win with Mount Marty getting just one shot on goal for the game.
Dordt College is now 6-4 in the conference with two league games to go and 7-5-1 overall. Mount Marty slips to 0-10 and 2-12.
