Dordt College Men's Soccer vs. Morningside

(Sioux Center, Iowa) The Morningside Mustang men's soccer team made it a sweep of the Dordt College soccer teams with a 4-2 win over the Defenders on Tuesday afternoon in Sioux Center.

The Mustangs struck first with 6:20 gone in the first half off an unassisted goal by Jacob Adams. Adams scored again with 25:59 left in the half off an assist from Quin Kilgore. The ball kept rolling for Morningside when they tacked on their third goal with 3:34 left in the first period. This time it was Mario Khoury finding the back of the net off an assist from Logan Judd.

Dordt got to within two when Will Bruinsma scored on a rip to the right after a long dribble attack with 4:39 gone in the second half but the Mustangs re-established control just five minutes later on Adams' third goal, an unassisted deflected shot to make it 4-1. Ryan Coon scored the final goal off an assist from Quinton Glashower with 29:37 left in the game to make the final 4-2.

Morningside out-shot Dordt College 12-10 with Brian Schekirke working in goal for the Mustangs. Dordt's keeper for the game was Brandon Vander Wel.

Dordt slips to 4-4 in the Great Plains Athletic Conference and 5-5 overall while the Mustangs improve to 3-3-1 in the league and 3-9-1 overall.
