Dordt College Men's Soccer vs. Briar Cliff

(Sioux City, Iowa) The Dordt College Defender men's soccer team went on the road and beat Briar Cliff in Great Plains Athletic Conference play 5-2. Dordt College got their first goal of the game from Ryan Coon off an assist from Danny Koolhaas 17 minutes into the game. Andrew Wubben gave Dordt a 2-1 lead off an assist from Koolhaas and David Hiemenga off a throw in.
The Defenders stretched it out with a Mike Oppeneer goal less than two minutes into the second half off an assist from Coon and 3:12 into the half Coon scored his second goal of the game off an assist this time from Oppeneer. Coon capped the hat trick with a chip shot with under ten minutes remaining after Briar Cliff had cut the lead down to 4-2. Oppeneer and Chad Nibbelink were credited with assists on the play.
Brandon Vander Wel got the win in goal.
