Dordt College Men's Soccer vs. Doane

(Sioux Center, Iowa) The Dordt College Defender men's soccer team earned a 4-1 victory over Doane today in Great Plains Athletic Conference action. All the goals came in the second half.

Dordt started the scoring with 40:14 left in the game on a shot by Craig Ritsema from 30 yards out that found the top left corner. Less than nine minutes later Brett Van Andel made a steal and fed Mike Oppeneer for a 2-0 lead.

Doane responeded with a shot on an open goal with 27:11 remaining. Bobby Korkow scored the goal to make it 2-1. Dordt came right back on a Brett Van Andel header with 26:40 remaining off a cross on a corner kick from Brett Kroeze and Ryan Coon capped the scoring with a header with :04 remaining on a cross from Brett Van Andel.

Tim Klein got the win in goal.

The loss tightens the GPAC race with Doane falling for the first time this season in conference play.
