Dordt College Men's Soccer vs. National-American

August 27, 1999

(Rapid City, SD) The Dordt men dropped their season opener to the 13th ranked team in the country (NAIA) National American University in Rapid City tonight under the lights. Two freshman played well for the Defenders, as Travis Burgers (Sioux Falls, SD) and Josh Visser (Orange City, IA) combined on Dordt's lone scoring play of the game. Burgers scored on a second half break away, with Visser picking up the assist. Dordt goalie Arlan Vander Woude compiled 10 saves in net for the Defenders now 0-1 on the season. Tonight's loss was only the 100th loss in school history for the Defenders. Dordt's overall record record for men's soccer since 1978 is 258-100-21.
