Dordt College Lacrosse vs. Missouri S & T

(Kansas City, Missouri) The Sowers lost a hard fought game against a talented team from Missouri S & T on Saturday. The Kansas City heat that beat down on both teams without question had an effect on how both teams played at times.
Dordt's offense played well in the first half, scoring 10 goals even without their leading scorer Nick Campbell who was not able to make the trip. The offense was led by senior Darren Raih who scored 4 goals. Sophomore Mark Opp added 3 of his own, while assisting another. Juniors Tyler Buys and Eric Spoelstra each added 2 goals.
Dordt's defense played tough, using their size to their advantage at times with some big hits that rattled the Missouri S & T attackmen. The defense was led by senior Brett Cooper who picked up 8 ground balls and scored a goal. Goalie Jordan Yntema recorded 12 saves.
