Dordt College Lacrosse vs. Augsburg

(Fairibault, Minnesota) The Dordt College lacrosse team started their 2011 season with an 11-6 win over the Augsburg Auggies at the Shattuck Dome in Fairbult, Minnesota. The offense was able to possess the ball throughout much of the game which allowed for many scoring opportunities.
The Sowers were led on offense by senior Nick Campbell who had 5 goals and 1 assist. Campbell was also named game most valuable player. Senior Darren Raih led the team with 3 assists. Sophomore Mark Opp added 2 goals and 1 assist, and junior Tyler Buys tacked on 2 goals of his own.
Three Sowers scored their first goals of their career. Seniors Tyler Dooyema, Dan Brouwer, and Hessel Kielstra all recorded their first goal. Jordan Yntema had a .538 save percentage while only allowing 6 goals.
The Sowers will play the Creighton Bluejays this Saturday April 2, in Omaha, Nebraska at 12 p.m. The Sowers are 4-2 all time against their rival.
