Dordt College Blades Hockey vs. Nebraska

(Sioux Center, Iowa (Vernon Arena)) Dordt College gave up two goals in each period, falling 6-0 to the Nebraska Cornhuskers in the final games of the season for the Blades. Dordt's season come to a conclusion with an overall mark of 6-18 and 1-9 in MACHA play while the Huskers improve to 17-4-2-2 on the year and 7-1-2 in conference play.
Andrew Alpsteg notched his sixth goal of the season at 12:24 and added a power play goal at 5:27 when he redirected a shot from Drew Kokosa to give the Huskers the 2-0 lead.
Drew Kokosa gave Nebraska a 3-0 lead at 17:33 in the second period, with his 20th goal of the year and Ross Johnson scored his 24th of the season to make it 4-0.
Johnson tallied his 25th marker of the year, banging home a rebound at 17:32 of the third and Mike Pickerel picked up his eighth of the season for the 6-0 final. Dordt had two shots ring off the crossbar in the third period but couldn't thwart the Nebraska shut-out bid.
Alpsteg had two goals and two assists for a four point outing while Kokosa and Johnson both had three points.
The Blades were outshot 39-16 for the game as Nate Sandercock picked up his first shut-out of the season, turning away all of Dordt's efforts. Riley Braun had 33 saves in goal for the Blades.
