Dordt College Blades Hockey vs. Arkansas

(Springdale, Arkansas (The Jones Center)) In spite of an early 1-0 lead the Blades struggled against the Arkansas Razorbacks falling this afternoon by 10-1 final. Dordt College falls to 4-16 with the loss while the Razorbacks improve to 19-5 and a perfect 12-0 at home.
Dordt took the early 1-0 advantage when Nic Enerson scored his team leading ninth goal of the season at 16:33 in the first period with an assist from Lucas Koomans. From there on it would be all Arkansas as the Razorbacks struck three times in the first period to go into the locker room up 3-1. The Blades were outshot 16-3 in the opening twenty minutes of action in Springdale, Arkansas.
A pair of power play goals in the second period put the Razorbacks up 5-1 and two more at even strength had Arkansas up 7-1 at the second intermission with the 'Backs outshooting Dordt 24-5 in the middle frame.
Arkansas peppered Dordt College in the third period, putting up 32 shots while limiting Dordt to just five with the Razorbacks adding a trio of goals for the 10-1 final.
All totaled, Dordt netminder Riley Braun saw 72 shots, turning away 62 while his counterpart Spencer Mulgrew face just 13 shots, picking up his eighth win of the year.
Dordt College will play on their home ice on Friday, January 24 and Saturday, January 25 when they host Creighton at 7:30 pm and 4:15 pm respectively.
