January 17, 2014
(Springdale, Arkansas (The Jones Center)) The Dordt Blades got the final part of their season off to a rough start, giving up five goals in the first period before falling by a final of 8-0. The Arkansas Razorbacks improve to 18-5 with the victory while the Blades fall to 4-15.
A goal just 34 seconds in to the contest gave the Arkansas Razorbacks an early lead and goals at 14:39, 10:46 and 5:43 had the home team up 4-0. A late tally with 50 seconds to play in the period put Arkansas up 5-0 heading into the first intermission.
The Dordt Blades looked like they would come out of the second period unscathed but Arkansas added a marker with 86 seconds left in the frame to make it 6-0 after two periods of action and the Razorbacks added two goals in the third for the 8-0 final.
The Blades were 0-3 with the man advantage with one attempt in each of the three periods while Arkansas did not get a chance to employ their power play unit as the Blades stayed out of the box all evening.
Riley Braun had 39 saves in goal for the Blades while Kevin Scheer turned away all 15 of Dordt's shots, to pick up the shut-out and his 11th win of the season.
