Dordt College Blades Hockey vs. Colorado State

(Fort Collins, Colorado (Epic Ice Arena)) The Dordt Blades fell by a final of 7-2 to Colorado State this evening in a non-conference game played in Fort Collins, Colorado. Colorado State improves to 7-2 with the win while the Blades fall to 2-4.
For the second night in a row the Blades got off to a slow start, giving up a goal just seven seconds in to the contest and the Rams added another in the first period to take a 2-0 lead in to the first intermission.
Colorado State added two goals early in the second period and another midway through and enjoyed a 5-0 lead going in to the locker room for the second intermission.
The Rams picked up a five minute major for kneeing in the third period and the Blades capitalized picking up two goals on the extended power play opportunity. Kevin Vermeer got his third goal of the season and Nic Enerson picked up his seventh to get the Blades within three (5-2).
Colorado State would add two more of their own in the third period, securing their seventh win of the season.
Riley Braun had 44 saves in goal for Dordt College with his counterpart Vince Case turning away 14 shots.
The Blades hope to finish their road trip with a win when they take on the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs, the Mountain Lions are off to an 0-5 start.
