Dordt College Blades Hockey vs. Kansas

(Kansas Expocentre, Topeka, Kansas) After beating the University of Kansas last night by a score of 8-3, the Blades drop the second of the two game series with the JayHawks, falling in the road game by a score of 3-2.
Goals in the first period by Dordt's Doug Veldhuisen (6th) and Eric Walter (2nd) gave the Blades a 2-0 lead after the first 20 minutes of action.
Kansas cut the Dordt lead in half with a goal from Schilar Kessler and the second period ended with Dordt clinging to a 2-1 lead.
Goals from Kansas' Mike Talini and Conner Hanlen got the Jayhawks their first win of the season.
No goalkeeping statistics and none of the times of the goals were kept for this contest.
With the loss the Blades drop to 6-13-2-1 on the season while the JayHawks get their first win of the year to move to 1-19.
The Blades will travel to Brookings on Thursday, February 2 to take on South Dakota State University at 8:45 pm before playing the Jacks again on Friday, February 3 at 7:30 pm in Sioux Center, Iowa.
