Dordt College Blades Hockey vs. Creighton

(Omaha, Nebraska) After playing their first 5 games at home in the Vernon Arena, the Dordt Blades traveled to Omaha for their first road contest of the season. Unfortunately, the Blades dropped their second straight outing to Creighton, tonight's result was 4-2 loss.
Creighton lit the lamp first when Will Fogarty netted his first goal of the season with 5 minutes to play in the first period with assists from Sean Munro and Matt Baer.
Dordt tied the game just 50 seconds into the second period when Eric Huitsing netted his second of the season with an assist from Jordan Janz. The game would not stay tied for long as Creighton knocked in a pair of goals in quick succession to take a 3-1 lead; Matt Baer scored at 18:03 and Joe Llewellyn at 17:33.
The Jays added all the insurance they would need when Llewellyn got his second of the night with 8:23 to go in the third period to make it a 4-1 game. Dordt's Jordan Janz scored his second goal of the season with 2:34 to go in the third on an assist from Brandon Fast to finish off the scoring.
Nico VanKeulen had the netminding duties for Dordt College, turning away 40 of the Jays' 44 shots on goal. John Bretzman stopped 37 of the 39 Blades' shots to improve to 1-1 in goal on the year.
The Blades will host the Clash in the Corn on Thursday, Friday and Saturday next week (November 5, 6 and 7).
