The period ended with the score tied at 5 apiece.
For the third straight period it would be Colorado getting on the board first when Donato received a pass from behind the goal and beat Dordt netminder Ted Gibbons. Eric Walter gave Dordt a lead at 7-6 when finished a rebound after a Jake Esselink shot. With about a minute remaining the Buffaloes pulled their goalie for the extra attacker and just 10 seconds later Nate Woudstra stole a pass and nailed it in the extra net to secure the win and give Woody 4 goals on the night.
