(Yankton, South Dakota (Alcoa Arena)) The Blades continued their 2009 win streak with a 6-3 win over the USD Coyotes in Yankton, South Dakota. The victory lifts the Dordt record to 16-4-1-1 overall and a conference mark of 12-0-1-0 in the NCCHA, while extending their win streak to 3 games.

Dordt peppered the Coyote netminder, Brett Bennett, for the entire contest as the USD goalie faced 70 Dordt shots, making an impressive 65 saves. Said DC head coach Nate van Niejenhuis, "their goalie was standing on his head. Of those 70 shots probably 50% of them were legitimate scoring opportunities that he kept out of the back of the net, he was fabulous." "The surface in Yankton is very, very cold and I think that hampered our passing game a little bit and there was not a lot of hitting, but both teams had to play in the same environment. Janzy had a banner night."

The Blades got off to a great first period start with Nate Woudstra opening the scoring on the power play at the 17:27 mark with assists from Jared Rempel and Todd Bakker. Jordan Janz added two tallies with the first coming with 13:01 to go in the first from Esselink and Chesla, while his second of the night came with 5:31 remaining, again from Chesla and Esselink. Brandon Breukelman finished off the first period scoring for the Blades with a goal at 3:04 with helpers going to Jordan Janz and Matt Chesla.

The Blades struck first again in the second period as Todd Bakker got on the board at the 13:29 mark from Jared Rempel and Kevin Prins. USD scored the next two as the combo of Egan and Parsons got together with Egan scoring on an assist from Parsons at 11:44 and then Parsons from Egan on the power play at 10:30.

In the third period USD cut the lead down to 5-3 with an unassisted goal by Egan at 2:03. The Coyotes pulled their goalie shortly after and Bakker put the game out of reach with an empty net goal at 1:15 with assists going to Kurtis Heerema and Joel Sikkema.

Dordt's Ted Gibbons played all 60 minutes in goal for the Blades and registered 16 saves while Brett Bennett made 65 saves, allowing 5 goals on 70 shots.
